Total Cost price of 500 Nepali Pasmina (CP) = 2500 * 500 = Rs. 1250000 CP with tax = 1250000 + 5% of 1250000 = Rs. 1312500 He sold per piece at 40$ = 40 * 105 = Rs. 4200 SP of all pasmina = 4200 * 500 = Rs. 2100000 Here SP > CP .....

2. In Nepal, the cost of a mobile set is Rs 1,20,000. In England the same set costs ₤ 950 and in America US$ 1200. In which country is the mobile set the cheaper? ( ₤1 = NPR 130.0, $1 = NPR 106.0 )

4. A retailer marked the price of a watch a certain percent above the cost price. Then he allowed 20% discount to make 12% profit. If the watch was sold for Rs. 5,062.40 with 13% VAT, by what percent is the marked price above the cost? 

Here,  SP with VAT = Rs. 5062.40 or, SP + VAT% of SP = Rs. 5062.40 or, SP + 13% ⨉ SP = Rs. 5062.40 or, 1.13SP = Rs. 5062.40 So, SP = Rs. 5062.40/ 1.13 = Rs. 4480 Now, SP = MP - D% of MP  or, 4480= MP - 20% ⨉  .....

5. A shopkeeper purchased a bicycle for Rs 5,000 and marked its price a certain percent above the cost price. Then, he sold it at 10% discount. If a customer paid Rs. 6,356.25 with 13% VAT to buy it, how many percent is the marked price above the cost price?

Let the Marked price of the bicycle be 'a'. Given, CP = Rs. 6000 SP = MP - Discount % of MP = a - 10% of a = a - 0.1a = 0.9a Now, SP with VAT = 0.9a + 13% of 0.9a or. 6356.25 = 0.9a + 0.117a or, 6356.25 = 1.017 a ∴ a = Rs.6250 The .....

6. A bicycle is sold at Rs. 9,040 after allowing 20% discount and imposing 13% VAT. Find the marked price of the bicycle.

Let the Marked Price of the bicycle be 'a' SP after discount = a - 20% of a = a - 20 / 100 a  = 0.8 a  SP with VAT = 0.8a + 13% of 0.8a  or, 9040 = 0.904a ∴ a = Rs. .....

7. A shopkeeper sold an article at 20% discount and made a loss of Rs. 90. If he had sold it at 5% discount, he would have gained Rs. 90. Find the cost price and marked price of the article.

Let the Marked Price(MP)  be x. 1st condition: D% = 20%. Therefore, SP  = MP - D% of MP = x - 20% of x = 8x/10. Here, Loss amount = Rs. 90. Therefore, CP = SP + Loss amount = Rs. (8x/10 + 90) Again, 2nd condition: D% = .....
