1. A dealer sold a laptop after adding 13% VAT to the retailer. If the retailer sold at 10% loss, spent Rs. 3,980 on transportation cost and Rs 10,000 on local tax then supplied to the customer. If the customer pay the VAT amount for the laptop at the current rate of VAT is Rs. 9,750, what was the original price of the dealer?

Here, Let the cost price of dealer be 'a' Cost price of the retailer = a + 13% of a = a + ( 13 / 100 ) a = 1.13 a Selling price of the retailer = Cost price + transportation charge + local tax - 10% loss           .....
